On the 11th episode of my podcast, I invited Christy Primmer who is a coach, author, and speaker for women who want to finally step up, show up, and share their message with the world. She helps women ditch the self-sabotage, do the work, regain self-awareness and stop caring what everyone else thinks. Because all that matters, is that you believe in yourself.
Christy and I know each other from female entrepreneur groups online and have gotten to know each other over the years. We’ve bonded over the importance we put on authentic expression, and can gabble on for hours on ways to make our head and heart play nice with each other.
On this episode, we talk about the importance of listening to intuition, and why our emotions and instincts are an essential beacon for helping us make specific decisions in our lives.

Memorable Podcast Snippets:
“So I worked corporate hours, 9 to 5 for years and years, because I thought I should. That’s what was ‘normal,’ right? That’s what you do: you go to university, you work 9 to 5. No. So, I can honestly say, I’ve never been happier or healthier. I don’t even work 9 to 5, thank god. I have a teenage son. I actually schedule my business around my family needs and I feel like its just so liberating to be able to pick and choose, not only who I work with but when I’m working and so a little bit about that: I’m designing my life. I’m creating a life and a business that I want. And giving myself permission to not work if I don’t want to. I generally work about 4 days a week. I do work a lot more on my business right now as I’m in a transition. It’s something that I’m passionate about and I enjoy working. I’m so grateful. When you design your own life, you have the control.”
“I worked for a government-funded agency for victims of sexual violence and I loved the work. I still actually do work for victims of sexual violence in my own practice, but I walked into work one day and got fired. Interestingly enough, prior to that, I had never had any issues in any place I had worked, ever, so it was very traumatizing to me. I remember feeling devastated, I could hardly speak, I went into a funk, I felt like a loser, I felt all of these really uncomfortable things and yet through it all, I was inspired to finally start the business I had been envisioning for 3 years.”
pan”I always have people do mirror exercises. Just look right into your eyes. ‘Why are you resistant? Why are you being a complete jerk to me? Why do you not want me to do this? What is blocking me right now?’ Because you have to face it. That elephant in the room? We’re talking about our minds. The power of our own mind is what propels us forward in life.”
